EV Registration Fees Double in Two Years

20 States have special registration fees for hybrids and EVs.

That’s double the number in a two year period.

18 states are considering EV related, EV registration related legislation in 2019.

Energywire says Transportation has surpassed energy in emissions.

Increasing EV fees to make up for gas tax revenue can depress EV sales and thus increase transportation emissions.

In KP-0245 there was a question about how local law enforcement can enforce truck weight enforcment. Here’s the big picture:

Maybe there is some confusion, but its likely the Transportation Code Chapters 621 & 251 governs, so follow those rules
Local Law enforcment has to be authorized by TXDOT
TXDOt can also revok local law enforcement authority

Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission removed barriers that prevented 3rd party ownership of EV charging stations.

The regulatory changes:

EV charging stations will not be considered “resale of electricity”
EV stations will be excluded from pricing requirements of the state’s Public Utilities Code

Los Angeles County, in the run up to the 2028 Olympics, approved a study of congestion pricing.

Revenue estimates for the congestion pricing would generate: $9.6 billion and $83 billion over a period of 10 years.
