Today Kelo is revisited

Today, March 21, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear  Bowers v. Oneida County Industrial Development Agency which opens the door to reconsider Kelo v. New London. An amicus brief by the Cato Institute argues that the U.S. Supreme Court “should overrule Kelobecause it is deeply at odds with the text and original meaning of the Public Use Clause and is also marred by other errors.”

Drone enforcement

The Wyoming Legislature passed SF 132 (2025 | WY) that would allow local law enforcement to intervene (probably shoot down drones, if we’re being honest) when they fly over critical infrastructure. The Wyoming Governor vetoed the bill explaining that the bill conflicts with federal law.

This week the Wyoming Legislature overrode the veto, so the local sheriff can use a boomerang and take down a drone.
