Virginia <a href=\"https:\/\/lis.virginia.gov\/cgi-bin\/legp604.exe?201+sum+SB758&amp;201+sum+SB758\">SB 758 (2020 | VA)<\/a> allows robots up to 500 lbs, gives the robots the same rights as pedestrians &amp; requires cities to allow the robots on roads when there is no sidewalk.  Pennsylvania SB 1199 (2020 | PA) considered a similar regulatory framework. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why is this important? The use of delivery services increased with the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How will this be important? It is the wild Wild West when it comes to whether delivery robots can operate on sidewalks.
