Special Districts are on the chopping block. A skeptical eye has always existed for special districts. Special Districts with really good tax breaks even more so, because that&#8217;s less state revenue. The leading narrative is because Disney spoke out against the &#8220;Don&#8217;t Say Gay&#8221; Bill. Free Speech does apply to corporations, especially considering <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/supct\/html\/08-205.ZS.html\">Citizens United.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why is this important? Florida Legislature is voting to remove the Reedy Creek Improvement District that allowed Disney to operate nearly freely of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How will this be important?
