A crypto mining application in Pitt County, NC was withdrawn after community opposition. The opposition: Equity &amp; Noise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why is this important? Community was concerned about : added noise from high powered fans that will required by the data miners, that the area was selected because &#8220;of its high proportion of poor and marginalized residents&#8221; &amp; proximity to neighborhoods and a school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How will this be important?  The crypto miners pulled their application even though they would fully comply with all applicable noise ordinances.
