Why the hush-hush?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Central Radio had been in Norfolk for 80\u00a0years.<\/li>\n<li>Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority wanted its land and buildings for\u00a0Old Dominion University<\/li>\n<li>Central Radio put up a banner on its own property which read &#8221;\u00a0\u201c50 years on this street\/78 years in Norfolk\/100 workers\/Threatened by eminent domain&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>The sign would have been ok if it was on other topics<\/li>\n<li>Old Dominion complained.<\/li>\n<li>Norfolk \u00a0fined Central Radio<\/li>\n<li>VA Supreme Court said- Can&#8217;t take the land. Central Radio Wins on Eminent Domain.<\/li>\n<li>The banner issue went to federal court, which has thus far ruled against Central Radio.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Moral of the Story: If you live in Norfolk, don&#8217;t put up signs in protest of eminent domain.
